Please note: Our old address, which does not belong to us since 2021, still appears on Google, and although we've made multiple efforts to update it, Google hasn’t resolved it. MIP now offers workshops at different locations and online. Studios only open on the day of class. Thank you for your understanding.
Important Information
We apologize if you searched us on Google and saw our old address. We’ve been trying to change it for a year now, and Google hasn’t solved it yet.
Miami Institute of Photography doesn’t have a permanent location anymore. From 2017 to 2021, we proudly ran our school on 54th St, until the pandemic forced us to close. In 2024, we came back with a fresh hybrid format: online classes and in-person workshops held at different studios around the city. These locations only open on the day of the workshop, so if you pass by earlier, you’ll likely find them closed.
We know it can be confusing, and we really appreciate your understanding while we work on getting our Google info updated.
Who is behind MIP?
Andrés Manner, MIP Founder and Director, is a Venezuelan photographer with over 30 years of experience in both image-making and education. He began his photography studies in Caracas before continuing at the Art Institute of Boston and later at the International Center of Photography (ICP) in New York, specializing in photojournalism and documentary photography.
Manner has an extensive career as a commercial photographer, artist and art promoter. In 2011, co-founded Cubo 7, Espacio Fotográfico in Caracas, a cultural space dedicated to photography. After relocating to Miami, he co-founded the Miami Institute of Photography (MIP) in 2017.
MIP quickly became a hub for photographers and creatives, offering exhibitions, talks, and a strong educational program. After a pandemic-related pause, the school has reopened as a hybrid platform, continuing its mission with renewed energy and an expanded team of instructors.
