New York is a city of constant movement, contrast, and unexpected moments. This workshop is designed as an immersive photographic experience more than a class. It invites participants to engage with the city through observation, walking, conversation, and image-making.
Throughout the weekend, we will photograph the streets, light, architecture, and atmosphere of the city while sharing the experience with a small group of participants who have similar interests and curiosity.
Guided by Andrés Manner, whose long relationship with New York has deeply influenced his photographic practice, the workshop offers a thoughtful and intuitive way of navigating the city through photography.
About the Experience
WHO THIS IS FOR
This course is designed for anyone who has a basic understanding of their camera and wants to spend a different kind of weekend immersed in photography and the energy of New York City.
It is ideal for participants who enjoy observation, walking, photographing everyday life, and sharing the experience with others who have similar interests. No distractions, no rigid schedules; just time dedicated to photography, exploration, and presence.
HOW IT WORKS
Participants are responsible for arranging their own flights, accommodation, and meals, giving them the flexibility to travel in the way that suits them best.
The group will meet early Saturday morning for a brief introduction before heading out to photograph throughout the day. We will pause for lunch and conversation, and regroup in the evening for dinner and discussion. Sunday follows a similar rhythm, ending at 5:00pm with a final dinner and wrap-up conversation.
After the trip, each participant will have an individual online meeting with the instructor to review and discuss their photographs.
